Résumé

La santé mentale des athlètes féminines fait l'objet d'une attention croissante, mais de nombreuses équipes ne bénéficient pas d'un soutien psychologique adéquat. Cette étude a testé une nouvelle intervention cognitivo-comportementale multimodale, fondée sur la thérapie rationnelle-émotive et comportementale (TREC), intégrant la théorie de la gestion du stress, l'évaluation des défis et des menaces, l'auto-compassion et l'imagerie mentale. Quatorze joueuses de football d'une équipe de première division de la République d'Irlande ont participé à six séances, avec des évaluations initiales, post-intervention et après deux semaines de suivi. Les résultats ont révélé une amélioration significative de la gestion du stress et une réduction de l'autodépréciation, des comportements anxieux et de la faible tolérance à la frustration, ces effets se maintenant lors du suivi. Aucune modification significative n'a été observée concernant la perception des exigences ou les performances, ce qui suggère qu'une telle intervention peut modifier efficacement la gestion du stress et les croyances irrationnelles chez les athlètes féminines.
