Les footballeurs dans le cyberespace
réseaux sociaux numériques et développement humain dans le sport de haut niveau

La présence croissante des réseaux sociaux numériques a transformé la manière dont les joueurs de football communiquent, apprennent et construisent leur image publique. Cette étude visait à analyser l'influence de ces plateformes sur le quotidien, la performance sportive et le développement psychologique des athlètes professionnels et des jeunes de moins de 20 ans. Menée selon une approche mixte et un plan exploratoire séquentiel, la recherche s'est déroulée en deux phases complémentaires : qualitative et quantitative. La première a consisté en des entretiens semi-directifs avec cinq athlètes professionnels (évoluant dans des clubs de première, deuxième et troisième divisions du championnat de l'État de São Paulo, ainsi qu'un athlète ayant une expérience dans des clubs de São Paulo et une expérience internationale), analysés par analyse thématique de contenu. La seconde a consisté en un questionnaire en ligne (QRSD) administré à 50 athlètes des catégories professionnelles et jeunes de clubs de São Paulo, avec une analyse descriptive et comparative des fréquences de 40 variables. Les résultats ont montré que les réseaux sociaux sont largement utilisés pour la communication, l'apprentissage technique et la promotion personnelle, mais constituent également des sources de distraction, de pression psychologique et de vulnérabilité émotionnelle. S’appuyant sur la théorie bioécologique du développement humain, il apparaît que l’environnement numérique intègre le microsystème de l’athlète, influençant ses relations interpersonnelles et ses processus d’autorégulation. Le cyberespace se révèle être un champ symbolique pour la construction de l’identité et des connaissances sportives, tandis que les fondements de la psychologie du sport permettent de comprendre les effets des réseaux sur la motivation, la concentration et la santé mentale. On en conclut que les réseaux sociaux numériques jouent un rôle structurant dans le parcours sportif et personnel des athlètes, fonctionnant comme des espaces de visibilité, d’apprentissage et d’expression, mais nécessitant des compétences émotionnelles et éducatives pour un usage équilibré. Il est recommandé aux clubs et aux commissions techniques de mettre en œuvre des programmes d’alphabétisation numérique et de soutien psychologique, favorisant une gestion saine de la présence en ligne et contribuant au développement humain et sportif intégral.
