Impacto de una intervención cognitivo-conductual multimodal en la mentalidad de estrés, los desarrollos irracionales y la percepción de desesperación en partidos de fútbol

La salud mental de las atletas femeninas ha recibido cada vez más atención, pero muchos equipos carecen de un apoyo psicológico adecuado. Este estudio puso a prueba una novedosa intervención cognitivo-conductual multimodal, basada en la Terapia Racional Emotiva Conductual (TREC), que incorpora la teoría de la mentalidad de estrés, evaluaciones de desafíos y amenazas, autocompasión e imágenes mentales. Catorce jugadoras de fútbol de un equipo de primera división de la República de Irlanda participaron en seis sesiones, con evaluaciones al inicio, después de la intervención y tras dos semanas de seguimiento. Los resultados revelaron un aumento significativo en la mentalidad de estrés y reducciones en la autocrítica, la conducta preocupante y la baja tolerancia a la frustración, efectos que se mantuvieron en el seguimiento. No se observaron cambios significativos en las demandas percibidas ni en el rendimiento, lo que sugiere que dicha intervención puede modificar eficazmente la mentalidad de estrés y las creencias irracionales en las atletas femeninas.
