DETERMINATION OF ORGANIC MATTER IN SOILS WITH DIFFERENT METHODS OF ANALYSIS AND A PROPOSAL FOR RECYCLING THE LABORATORY

Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the efficiency of different methods of quantification of soil organic matter (SOM) for dry and wet combustion. The method of calcinations overestimated the levels of SOM and this highlighted the need to propose equations of correlation with the Walkley e Black method (the default State of Paraná). The residue from the determination of the SOM was characterized by wet combustion and later was made the reduction and precipitation where the sludge generated is incorporated into clay bodies (0, 5, 10 and 15%) were evaluated in which the physical properties: limits of consistency of Atterberg, linear shrinkage of drying and firing (700, 800 and 900th C), water absorption and color of burning. The results were satisfactory in the masses of clay with 5% increase in waste temperature of 700º C, because the other bodies of evidence tested suffered disruption and distortion. Key words: Soil.
