Geoprocessing like a subsidy for creation and management of Conservation Unit of Ferrabraz scarp, Rio dos Sinos basin (RS, Brazil)

Abstract

Understand the spatial distribution of the landscape and their components is one of the bigger challenges to solve central questions to a better efficiency of the projection and the management of Conservation Units. Among several techniques used to understand the landscape feature, the Geoprocessing become a very useful tool to give dynamism to work and costs of necessary mappings, at least this term evolve all the science or technology related with register, mapping, remote sensing and Georeferencied Information System (GIS). The present work looking for characterizing the land uses from Araricá, Morro Reuter, Nova Hartz, Sapiranga, Santa Maria do Herval, Três Coroas, Igrejinha e Parobé cities, region where are the Nucleus Area of the Reserve of Biosfere of Atlantic Forest on the counter forts of Ferrabraz Hill (Basin of Rio dos Sinos, Rio Grade do Sul state). Results from classification of multispectral images SPOT 5 and the combination with regional cartography in an environmental of SGI are related here. First conclusions presented the landscape, geomorphological and phytophysiognomic potential of this area, and besides, incentive and brings subsidy to propose a Conservation Unit for the region.
