This article argues the rural space transformation in protected areas, having as examples spaces located in France and Brazil. As much in the Europe, as in Brazil, the country spaces have been great valued for your environmental function. From territory essentially known as food producers, they began to be social and institutionally seen as environmental reserves, protected areas, for which they are recommended economic practices less harmful to the nature, such as some extrativists activities, or even creation or culture, with extremely controlled managements, in order to not intervene substantially in the natural reproduction of the way. As a relatively recent phenomenon, the ressignification of rural environments is consolidated in the Europe, especially in France, and takes form in Brazil, when the environmental sensibilization, more evident between the urban ones, it promotes new perceptions of what is a natural environment. At last, this article makes a reconstitution of the evolution trajectory of the nature conceptions, from rural and environment, and its consequences on the reproduction of the contemporary rural. Key words: Rural Spaces. Environmental Crisis. Protected Areas. Environmental Sensibilization. Nature Management. Production/Protection Spaces. Contemporary Rural.
