Abstract
When reflecting on the education of Dance in the curriculum of the Physical Education, we make it in the intention to understand: as was inserted in the pertaining to school spaces, pointing out it since the beginning of century XX in the interior of the processes of constitution of the Brazilian school education; as it starts to constitute the processes of formation in higher education, in the Physical Education or Artistic Education; which the place that it occupies and as it comes pedagogically being treated in the inside to the schools; e which the academic productions that come if dedicating to its studies. To understand these questions to help in the new challenges to the formation processes and pedagogical intervention of the dance in the school.

    Graduação em Licenciatura em Educação Física e Técnico em Desporto pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1991) e Mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2001). Atualmente é professora adjunto IV da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba e Doutoranda em Educação na Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Tem experiência na área de Educação Física, com ênfase em Educação Física Escolar, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: educação física, dança, escola, curriculo e prática pedagógica.
