Abstract
The aim of this study, which involves life story was to analyze the outstanding moments of teaching trajectory of Physical Educators. Four Physical Education teachers, who have been teaching at public schools in Santa Catarina State for more than 25 years, took part in this investigation. In addition to documental analysis, semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from Physical Education teachers and their co-workers. Content analysis technique was utilized in data analysis. Extra classroom activities (sports tournaments, choreographic performances at commemorative dates, administrative positions) were pointed out among the best moments of teaching career, while the worst events were based on work conditions, dissatisfaction with educational policies and deceptions with the teaching working class. Although the outstanding events had been experienced individually, teachers revealed to experience many similar episodes at school daily routine, which allowed for a greater comprehension of the Physical Education teaching career.

    Possui graduação em Educação Física (2002) e e especialização em Esporte Escolar (2004) pela Universidade Comunitária Regional de Chapecó. Atualmente é mestrada do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Física da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Tem experiência na área de Educação Física, com ênfase em Educação Física, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: carreira docente, desenvolvimento profissional e nível de satisfação profissional.     Licenciatura em Educação Física pela Faculdade Salesiana de Educação Física (1982), mestrado em Ciência do Movimento Humano pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1988) e doutorado em Ciências do Esporte pela Universidade do Porto (1998). Atualmente é professor associado da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Subcoordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Física da UFSC, Representante Adjunto da Área 21 na Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior(CAPES). Tem experiência na área de Educação Física, com ênfase em Formação Profissional e Pedagogia do Esporte, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: educação física, formação inicial, voleibol, desenvolvimento profissional e currículos e programas.
