Physical education, Sport and Culture in Higher Education: close relationships with Brazil and the present time

Abstract
This work deals with legal and professional conceptions of the Physical Education and sport in higher education and its relationship with the culture. The main idea of this subject is to insert the professional of Physical Education in higher education and the development of this practical in relation with historical cultural context that Brazil lived since the dictatorship. This process started with the redemocratization politics process and the development of the new visions of porting learning and the culture under the point of view of the anthropologic culturalism. Under the optics of american anthropologist Clifford Geertz, who treats the culture as a system of significant signs of which the individuals share, we tried to construct an interpretation of the above-mentioned profession, starting with authors and documents prominence in the sports field. We construct one brief reflection of the practical sportive as formation element of the culture, pointing a circular relation: sport is culture, as well as the culture defines the sport.

    Licenciatura Plena em Educação Física pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (2002), Especialização em Fisiologia do Exercício e Avaliação Morfofuncional pela UGF-RJ (2002) e mestrado em Ciencia da Motricidade Humana pela Universidade Castelo Branco (2007). Foi coordenador do curso de Educação Física e professor titular do Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas. Tem experiência na área de Educação Física, com ênfase em saúde e qualidade de vida, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: escalas de percepção de esforço, limiar de Conconi, ponto de deflexão da freqüência cardíaca, atividades aeróbicas e cicloergômetro. Atualmente é professor efetivo de Educação Física e Esportes da Universidade Federal de Itajubá - Campus Itabira. Educação Física: fisiologia, treinamento esportivo, atividades motoras em academias.     Possui graduação e licenciatura em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1993), mestrado em Comunicação e Semiótica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1998) e doutorado em Comunicação e Semiótica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2005). Atualmente é Prof.Dr. Universidade Federal de Itajubá, Campus Itabira, onde leciona Ciências Humanas e Sociais, atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: antropologia,metodologia da pesquisa, turismo, história, filosofia, comunicação e sociologia.
