Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyse the landscape of cerrados in the Federal District area, based on the landforms and geomorphological evolution, supported by hypsometry, declivity, soils and drainage. Methods and techniques of geomorphology, cartography, General Systems Theory and remate sensing were used with field work and specialized literatureaid. Conclusions show that the Federal District area has three natural landscapes: chapada region, intermediary dissection area, and dissec ted valley region. On the other hand, each type of landscape shows variations due to geologic local characteristics, which permits identification of 12 geomorphological units in the Federal District area.
