The study assesses the geotourism potential of Caém (Bahia), located in Brazil’s semi-arid region, by integrating geodiversity and tourist attractiveness. The methodology combined quantitative analyses, through the Geodiversity Index (IGd), and qualitative approaches, using field inventories and the Tourist Attractiveness Index (IAT). Using QGIS, lithology, geological structures, relief, soils, mineralogy, and drainage were mapped, dividing the territory into 298 grid cells. Results show that 20.81% of the area ehxibits high geodiversity, particularly in Serra das Figuras, Cachoeiras da Charneca, Cruzeiro, and Cachoeira de Caém. The IAT indicated a moderate level of attractiveness (35 points), characterised by high scenic value but limited infrastructure, accessibility, and environmental management. It is concluded that Caém holds significant, yet underexplored, geotourism potential, requiring investment in infrastructure, signage, geoscientific education, and territorial planning to foster sustainable development.
