Pontal da Santa Cruz is a district of the municipality of Santana do Cariri. This region is notable for its namesake elevated landform along the slope line of the Chapada do Araripe, providing it with relevant geomorphological characteristics. Besides, the region is also part of the Araripe Geopark geosite and a Conservation Unit. The geomorphological heritage of Pontal da Santa Cruz was inventoried, evaluated, and classified following an analysis of the local geomorphological dynamics. For this purpose, both qualitative and quantitative approaches were applied, focusing on the potential educational value and methods to assess the potential risk of degradation. As a result of this methodological approach, eight geomorphological sites were inventoried, notable both for their educational value and for the need for geoconservation strategies due to concerns about the degradation of this heritage.
